Oranjestad - Collision - At about 12:50 p.m. on Thursday, the 24th of August, a collision occurred on the De Graaffweg on St. Eustatius. A car drove into a building. The driver was checked on the spot by ambulance staff and was subsequently arrested by police for driving under the influence of alcohol. The driver in question was a 74-year-old man with initials C.A.W.
House searches with arrests
On Friday, the 25th of August, two house searches took place on St. Eustatius. A 29-year-old man with initials V.M.D.S. and a 22-year-old man with initials R.l.Q.W. were arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm and for threats with a firearm. Various items were seized during the search. The investigation in this case is ongoing.
