The Public Prosecutor’s Office offers reward in armed robbery case on St. Eustatius
Oranjestad - On Monday, the 15th of May 2023 at about 8:45 p.m., an armed robbery took place on a cash runner on Fort Oranjestraat in St. Eustatius. Two masked men surprised a security guard who was depositing the daily proceeds from a supermarket at an ATM. Both men were armed with firearms and violently robbed the security guard of the money in his possession. The victim was struck on the head with a firearm, leaving him injured. A substantial amount of money was taken in the robbery.

Oranjestad - Results investigation of deceased baby in nursery in St. Eustatius released (Press Release Public Prosecutor's BES) - On Tuesday, September 19, a deceased baby was found at a daycare center on St. Eustatius. A large-scale investigation team was immediately assembled by the KPCN under the leadership of two prosecutors from the Public Prosecutor's Office after which an extensive investigation was conducted. The investigation over the past few days has shown that there are no indications that a crime was committed. It also shows that there is no reason to believe that there was any involvement of others in the tragic death of the baby. KPCN and the prosecution will still be conducting some closing investigative actions but given the results of the investigation, the investigation team will be disbanded. We wish the bereaved family and friends much strength with this tragic loss.

Dutch Caribbean Police Force with ‘Ketenbeslag’ department
Kralendijk - The Dutch Caribbean Police Force recently established a ‘Ketenbeslag’ department on Bonaire. This is the department that handles vehicles or goods seized and taken into custody.

Oranjestad - Infant dies - On Tuesday, the 19th of September, the police received a report about a baby who showed no signs of life at a childcare center on St. Eustatius. The ambulance arrived on the scene and started resuscitation, but to no avail. It concerned a girl of a few months old. The case is under investigation.

The Dutch Caribbean Police Force has 24 new aspiring officers
Kralendijk - Monday, the 11th of September 2023 marked the official kick-off of the two-year police training program for the Dutch Caribbean. During the opening ceremony, the 24 new aspiring officers were welcomed by the Chief of Police, Mr. Alwyn Braaf.

The Bottom/Oranjestad - Theft of gasoline - On Monday, the 11th of September, gasoline was reported stolen from a boat that was taken out of the water for safety reasons. Because a storm was approaching, and the boat was full of gasoline, it was taken out of the water. The boat was parked in the parking lot behind the Saba Marine Park in Fort Bay on Saba. The case is under investigation.
