Multidisciplinary inspections on Saba and St. Eustatius
Oranjestad / The Bottom - In recent weeks, several multidisciplinary inspections were held in the ports of Saba and St. Eustatius. All arriving passengers, the luggage and the crew of the Makana Ferry were checked. The ferry was also checked.
Police report of Monday June 3rd until Monday June 10th 2024
Oranjestad - Lifeless body found - On Saturday, the 8th of June, around 8:30 AM, the central control room received a report of an unresponsive person at a business on Korthals road in St. Eustatius. When the patrol arrived, ambulance personnel performed CPR on the victim. A little later, the ambulance personnel stopped CPR. The coroner noted the death of a 46-year-old woman with initials N.A.B. born on the 23rd of February, 1978 in Jamaica. The lifeless body was seized for further investigation. The preliminary examination revealed that there were no indications of a crime.

The Bottom/Oranjestad - Scheduled alcohol check - During the afternoon hours of Saturday, June 1st, the Dutch Caribbean Police Force (KPCN) conducted a scheduled alcohol check on the E.A. Johnson Road in Saba. During these checks, fifteen (15) drivers were checked for their alcohol consumption with a breathalyzer test. This test indicates whether the person has consumed more than the permitted amount of alcohol to operate a motor vehicle. The purpose of the alcohol check was to make Saba citizens aware of the consequences of driving under the influence of alcohol.

Oranjestad - Stolen scooter found - On Monday, the 27th of May, the theft of a Yamaha brand scooter, type MIO 125, with license plate M-80 was reported. The scooter was parked in the yard of a residence on the Vincent A. Lopes Road on St. Eustatius. Between 8:30 PM and 9 PM on Monday, the 27th of May, unknown persons took the scooter.
Three KPCN employees arrested in criminal investigation
Kralendijk - In a criminal investigation conducted by the National Criminal Investigation Department into a violent incident, three employees of the Dutch Caribbean Police Force (KPCN) were arrested today, Monday, the 13th of May. They are suspected of assault and forgery/perjury.
