The Bottom - Collision - In the morning hours on Friday, the 1st of September, a single-vehicle collision involving a motorcycle occurred on the curve of Lower Hell's Gate on Saba. The victim was taken by ambulance to the hospital for medical treatment. The cause of the collision is not known.

Oranjestad - Collision - At about 12:50 p.m. on Thursday, the 24th of August, a collision occurred on the De Graaffweg on St. Eustatius. A car drove into a building. The driver was checked on the spot by ambulance staff and was subsequently arrested by police for driving under the influence of alcohol. The driver in question was a 74-year-old man with initials C.A.W.
KPCN Agents wear temporary shirt during warm months
Kralendijk - Temporarily, agents of the Caribbean Netherlands Police Force will be seen in the IBT shirt in combination with the vest instead of the usual black polo shirt with the horizontal yellow stripe.

The Bottom - Scheduled traffic check - A scheduled traffic check was held on Saba's Church Street between 9:45 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 19th.

The Bottom - Scheduled traffic check - In the afternoon hours on Tuesday, August 15th, a scheduled traffic control was held on the Lambert Hassel Road on Saba. During the check, 79 vehicles were checked and a total of 2 fines were issued for not being able to show a valid driving license and for driving without a paying road tax.
Vessels in distress between St. Eustatius and St. Maarten
The Bottom - In the afternoon hours on Sunday the 13th of August, the central control room received a report of a vessel in distress. The vessel had engine trouble and drifted in the sea waters between St. Eustatius and St. Maarten. In the meantime, it turned out that a second vessel had also had engine trouble about 4 nautical miles from St. Eustatius.

Sint Eustatius - Arrest - On Thursday, August 10th, a 32-year-old man with initials R.A.T. was arrested at Hubert Berkel's Drive on St. Eustatius for threat of violence, assault, attempted homicide, vandalism and violation of the BES Weapons Act. The suspect had assaulted and threatened a woman in which there was also material destruction. Two guns with munitions were also confiscated for further investigation.
New Deputy Chief of Police/ Head of Operations of the Dutch Caribbean Police Force
Kralendijk - From the 14th of August, 2023, the Caribbean Netherlands Police Force will have a new Deputy Chief of Police/ Head of Operations : Mr. Rob Meijer. He will follow Ronald Zwarter, who returns to the European Netherlands on the 1st of October, 2023 after a period of 4 years and will enjoy his well-deserved retirement at the beginning of 2024.

Police agents and military police in the Caribbean Netherlands trained as skippers for new patrol vessel
Kralendijk - Agents of the Dutch Caribbean Police Force (KPCN) and the Royal Netherlands Marechaussee (KMar) have passed the Boatmaster 3 training course in Bonaire. With this certificate, they can work as skippers of the new patrol vessel that is expected to be launched in October in Bonaire.

Sint Eustatius - Scooter collision - On Saturday, July 15th , an accident involving a scooter occurred on the H.M. Beatrix Road on St. Eustatius. For unknown cause, the driver fell off the scooter. Upon arrival of the patrol, they checked for valid documents. The driver of the scooter was found to have no driver's license. He also did not have the insurance documents with him. For this he was issued an official report. The driver was also found to be under the influence of alcohol and was arrested on the spot for driving under the influence. the scooter was impounded.
