Oranjestad - Arrest for assault - On Sunday, the 10th of December, around 5:30 PM, a 29-year-old man with initials V.M.D.S. was arrested for assault on the Van Pereweg on St. Eustatius. The suspect had threatened a man after which he assaulted the man. This caused the victim to fall after which the suspect further assaulted him. The victim sustained injuries to his face and other parts, as a result. Investigation in the case is ongoing.
Theft
On Friday, the 8th of December, a theft of a brown envelope containing cash was reported. The envelope was in a shoulder bag and was taken by strangers while shopping at a market. The case is under investigation.
