Police report of Wednesday, the 13th of December until Wednesday, the 20th of December 2023
Oranjestad - Collision between car and scooter - On Thursday, the 14th of December, around 5:15 PM, the central control room received a report of a collision between two vehicles on the Dr. H. A. Korthals road on St. Eustatius. It was a collision between a car and a scooter. Both vehicles were traveling on Dr. H.A. Korthals road towards Bay Brow.
The driver of the car stated that he wanted to turn left to enter the parking lot of a Supermarket. The driver of the scooter wanted to overtake the car at that moment and did not see that the car wanted to turn left. This caused the scooter to collide with the car after which it came to a stop against a concrete planter in the parking lot. The scooter driver was taken to the hospital for medical treatment. The scooter was taken to the police station for safekeeping.
