Oranjestad - Fire in Gallows Bay - During the night hours on Friday, the 17th of November, the central control room received a report of a fire near the rocks in Gallows Bay on St. Eustatius. Upon arrival, the patrol found that the safety mesh holding back the boulders was on fire with a risk of spreading. Where the fire was, it was difficult to reach for the fire brigade. The fire was extinguished by the fire brigade via the mountain top.

Scooter theft
On Thursday, the 16th of November, the theft of a white and blue Yamaha scooter, type Mio, without a license plate was reported. The scooter was locked and parked close to the library on Kerkweg. Between 9 PM and 11 PM on Wednesday, the 15th of November, unknown persons took the scooter. The case is under investigation.

Violation of the BES Shop Closure Act
During a routine check on Thursday, the 16th of November, a supermarket on John E. Mars Road on St. Eustatius that was open was closed by the police. The supermarket was open on a public holiday. A fine was issued for violating the BES Shop Closure Act and the National Ordinance of July 27, 2000.

Cannabis plants seized
On Monday, the 13th of November, a quantity of cannabis plants was seized on St. Eustatius. During a routine check the previous week, plants resembling cannabis were observed at three different addresses. The plants had the composition and color of a cannabis plant but did not emit an odor. As a result, a test with a sample of the plants was carried out by Forensic Investigation, which came out positive. The cannabis plants were seized from homes on the Paula C. Dorner Road, Lijfrock's Road and Mint Road.
